Troubleshooting issues with Jump to the site WP Admin functionality
Updated over 2 months ago

Jump to the site WP Admin allows you to quickly open the WP Admin of a Child Site already logged as an administrator user which was used to connect the Child Site to the MainWP Dashboard.

Below are the troubleshooting steps in case the functionality is not working as expected.

Security Plugins

Some security plugins may interfere with the functionality of Jump to the site WP Admin.

Some of the plugins we’ve seen that cause this are WPS Hide Login, Solid Security, Ghost My WP. In most cases, it was enough to adjust certain settings in these plugins for the functionality to return to normal.

So please try temporarily turning off the options within security plugins until you find the exact cause.

WWW mismatch

When adding a site to the MainWP Dashboard, it is important for the Site URL to exactly match the actual URL of the site. So if the site has a www prefix, it must be used, and if the site doesn’t use the www prefix, it must be omitted.

The use of www can be adjusted even after the site is added to the MainWP Dashboard.

Navigate to the Child Site Dashboard, then to Edit page. Then from the www dropdown, pick the appropriate selection, and click the Save Settings button at the bottom of the page.

HTTPS/HTTP mismatch

When adding a site to the MainWP Dashboard, it is important for the Site URL to exactly match the actual URL of the site. So if the site has a working certificate and is using a HTTPS protocol, then the HTTPS must be used as the Site URL.

The HTTP and HTTPS selection can be adjusted even after the site is added to the MainWP Dashboard.

Navigate to the Child Site Dashboard, then to Edit page. Then from the https:// dropdown, pick the appropriate selection, and click the Save Settings button at the bottom of the page.
